The Jamshed Strip- An Introduction

Sun Aug 16, 2009, 12:17 PM
Jamshed, a beginner’s guide (for people new to the group, and new arrivals).
The-Jamshed-Strip was established waaaaay back, many Pointless-Deviantart-Summer-Redesigns Ago, by UK art students Tom and Ben as a forum for their ranting about politics, and their occasionally questionable sense of humour. The comic exists in order to allow us an outlet away from our regular artistic endeavours, and hopefully to maintain/distract/annoy a small but faithful following here on DA.

Join Us
Jamshed was set up to be a collaborative concern. Contributors have come and have gone over the years, all helping to make us what we are today. Still a small webcomic. But if you wish to join us and use us as a forum for your comics (we have a pretty reasonably large list of watchers to show your work to) then contact any of the three of us below for more info.

The Comics/Artists

:iconsilverbolt2012: Jamshed Founder.

An Illustrator by education and a nerd by inclination, Tom is currently engaged in producing commissioned works, and plotting to take over his laughably one-horse village in Shropshire. Presently not a regular contributor to Jamshed, he still finds time to submit the occasional strips as and when his busy schedule/personal demon will allow. His strips tend to feature game and movie parodies, Dr Who, and somewhat frequently, girls with smashingly large bewbage.

:iconherr-flick: Co-Founder.

Photographer by training and nerd as a result of upbringing, Ben is currently not doing a great deal while he waits to be called back into the NHS to cover for staff during the forthcoming Swine Flu epidemic. Ben is the regular contributor at present with his fairly long-running ‘minished’ series that chronicles the semi-imagined/real life adventures of himself, his wife Amy, Tom (who’s not his wife), a Happy Goth called Happy, and some talking toy wolves- Arf (gullible), Lord Bark (posh) and Woof (mischief maker, and token she-wolf). There’s also a Scottish cow called Morag. Wednesday presently sees instalments of a new mini series, “The Ministry of Propaganda presents…” hosted by Lord Bark.

:iconchazthesilencer: Our Pun-man on the Grassy Knoll.

Chaz was until recently another regular contributor, however he has recently taken a break from Jamshed (though still submits occasional strips) to concentrate on other projects, such as the very successful (and well received) “New Neon Menaces Evangelion” series over at Youtube (see [link] for more details, a lot of DA regulars have done voices for these over the years btw). His comics feature the adventures of Generic Jim and his friends Greg, Suzy, and Nick.

There have been other guest contributors too over the years helping us to keep you, our valued watchers, entertained, or at least mildly distracted. Assuming nothing too apocalyptic happens in the near future, we aim to do so for many years to come too.

After a marathon weekend of watching over and over 17 episodes, It just struck me you havent done it....?
T'Shed hasnt done "The Prisoner" .... and god knows theres enough mileage in the (brilliant) series for a shed or two...?

maybe I should come up with an idea or two *but I couldnt draw it to do any justice*

"I am not a number, I am a FREE Wolf!"

85% of statistics are made up, and the other 30% are wrong.
    :iconherr-flick:
Oddly enough I had a "Prisoner" comic scripted last year, when I was signing on, but I was never happy enough with the writing of it to actually draw it, and I thought that not enough people would get it...

(it all revolved around the appaling pun "I am not a National Insurance Number!!!" :) )

i'm a pokemon fan, so i don't like " Gotta pilage em all", that's meen to do.
    :iconthe-jamshed-strip:
Mean but entertaining :) Hence why we faved it. If you dont like it, then why not say something constructive to the person who actually drew it?

If you haven't joined Jamshed, then you obviously haven't heard of us yet! [link]

Comics, with a distinctly British flavour. Also contains nerdiness and regular references to Dr Who :) You have been warned...
    :iconrubberman2025:
